This site is about my photography, but it is also about my journey to try to be a better photographer. I am using these pages to record my notes about cameras, equipment, exhibitions, styles, locations, clubs, photographers, courses, workshops and all the other stuff that appeals to photography nerds like myself.

I joined the Royal Photographic Society a few years ago, and I am working towards their distinctions. We all think our own photographs are amazing, but the critical appraisal from professionals quickly put me in my place.  I have the ARPS which I achieved with a Travel Panel. More details about that are here.

I am a member of Bedford Camera Club, a community of enthusiastic photographers, whose interests span lots of different genres.   We have brilliant talks and competitions, and although I seldom agree with the judge’s comments, their advice can occasionally be constructive.

I like people, nature and landscape photography. However more and more it is abstract and impressionism that is the challenge.

This site is more about notes to myself than the traditional photographer website with galleries. My notes are sometimes based on other people’s work, so they can be more curated than written, but the majority of the photographs are mine.

I do not include other photographers work without their permission. However, I like to share good work on my twitter feed.
